John Perls Partner/Creative Director

You know the clowns in Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade? Back in '91, one of those red-haired, bulb-nosed bozos was John. Is he proud of this fact? Let's just say he has a Macy's Clown School diploma hanging over his desk. Needless to say, John was also a copywriter at Macy's, where he wrote event ads for the retailer's 90-something stores. On the more serious side, John put his stellar copywriting talents to work at Grey Worldwide for clients like Prudential Home Mortgage, Lexmark, Dominos, Pizza, Chase Manhattan Bank and Hess Petroleum. He later moved over to Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer where he worked on MasterCard International and Stouffer's Foods. John's last stop prior to settling up shop in Hoboken with Todd was on the client side as advertising director for a home furnishings retailer, where he literally built the ad department from the ground up. You should see what this boy can do with a sheet of plywood and a buzz saw. John met Todd through a mutual friend in a bar at Union Square. A few years later they talked about starting their own agency. A few years after that, they did. The two later confessed they were drinking at the time.
